Strike at AH distribution centres continues, shoppers faced with empty shelves
The strikes at Albert Heijn distribution centers will continue into this week, union FNV has said, and shoppers are already noticing empty shelves in some stores. Albert Heijn spokesperson Anoesjka Aspeslagh said ‘all efforts are now aimed at getting the talks going’ while the FNV official Levin Zühlke-Van Hulzen said he will not come to the table unless Albert Heijn agrees to a 10% raise. ‘We are not asking for the moon, just that people don’t lose out,’ he told broadcaster NOS. It is difficult to predict what the impact on supermarket stock will be if the strike action continues, Aspeslagh said.
